Was ich in meinem Artikel „Die digitale Kleinbildkamera wird verschwinden“ bereits vor einem 3/4 Jahr prognostiziert hatte, scheint sich langsam zu bewahrheiten. Nach einem Artikel von AndroidPit hat Polaroid auf der CES die erste Polaroid Kamera SC1630 mit Android Betriebssystem vorgestellt, die laut Pressemitteilung auch optional neben WLan in Mobilfunknetze verbinden kann. Natürlich wird dieses Gerät noch nicht eine vollwertige Kleinbildkamera UND ein Smartphone ersetzen. Aber ich halte sie für einen vielversprechenden ersten Schritt in Richtung weiterer Technologieintegration. Der normale Kunde möchte es einfach, wenig Gadgets, wenig, was er herumtragen muss. Und das was Polaroid hier vorstellt sieht für mich schon sehr vielversprechend aus.
Wie man auf dem Bild von Androidpit sieht, ist die Kamera mit einem Zoomobjektiv ausgestattet und das Objektiv lässt sich ganz ins Gehäuse versenken. Sicher hat man damit nicht ein so schlankes Smartphone wie es die neueste Generation von z.B: Samsung anbietet. Aber aus vergangenen Erfahrungen lässt sich hier am Formfaktor durchaus noch etwas verändern. Aber zum ersten Mal sehe ich wirklich, was ich schon lange erwartet habe. Ein Smartphone mit echtem optischem Zoom. Und damit den ersten Schritt zur Integration für den Massenmarkt. Denn die wirklich hochwertigen SLR Kameras sind keine Geräte für den Massenmarkt. Der Massenmarkt verlangt einfach zu bedienende und möglichst kompakte Kleinbildkameras. Und hier beginnt mit dem Gerät von Polaroid der Pfad sich endgültig zu öffnen für die Integration von Smartphone und vollwertiger Kleinbildkamera.
Gratulation Polaroid dazu, die ersten zu sein, die das Konzept so umsetzen, wie es sowohl für ein „Smartphone“ als auch eine Kleinbildkamera wünschenswert ist.

- 3-fach optischer Zoom
- 3,2 Zoll Touch-Display
- 36-108 mm Linse
- WiFi (3G ist noch offen)
